Creative Commons Licence advice

Post by Sohohouse1 »

Hi all, Im new here, and new to forums in general, so I hope it goes well. I am trying to upload my own composition under a Creative Commons license. Is there some efficient way to review the process, by a person or programme and Im also after some advice on common problems. Does anyone know anything about it? Thanks all!

I would suggest reading over this page for info on what licenses we accept on the site.

When uploading your composition under a Creative Commons license, the first step is to choose the specific license that fits your goals (e.g., CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC BY-NC). IMSLP doesn’t have an automatic review tool, so it’s mostly a manual process, you’ll need to clearly indicate the license on your upload. Common issues include incorrectly filling out the metadata, not including proper attribution instructions, or uploading works that aren’t fully your own. A good tip is to read through IMSLP’s copyright and licensing guidelines carefully before uploading, and if you’re unsure, you can ask other forum members to review your submission for clarity and compliance.
