Franz Bendel's Op.14

Post by HonkyTonk »

This work purports to be based on three "favourite" pieces by Mozart. I certainly don't recognise the originals of any of them. Does anybody know on what Mozart works Bendel based this opus, or is it just a charming pastiche passed off as an arrangement of originals in the same way as Kreisler was to do some years later?

Having viewed them, I would guess the author wrote the three pieces in the style of Mozart...

Remember though that many works were attributed to Mozart in the 19th century that are no longer considered authentic, too... (and Op.14 No.2 does have a similar opening- for a few notes, but more than might be- to that of the finale of the violin sonata KV 481 :) )
