I had to choose only three popular catalan folk songs for an International Consensus on Singing Pedagogy (I had already choosed other two that are not in public domain).
It was my idea to look for outstanding composers that have done the arrangements as a way to spread the knowledge of catalan history of music.
I searched it there in two ways
1- Canciones+populares+Cataluña
2- Canciones+populares+españolas+Cataluña
Individual pages in PDFs are pasword protected, but in the whole PDFs it can be exported as individual pages without protection.

Càndid Candi was a key person in the renovation of the sacred music in Catalonia during the last three decades of the XIX century. Candi was taught composing by Bonaventura Frigola and Bernat Calbó. Through the major part of his life he was Kapellmeister in various churches of Barcelona: “Església de Sant Just Pastor” (1864), “Convent de Santa Clara” (1872) y “Església parroquial de Sant Jaume” (1887). In 1879 he was elected as a member of the “Academia Filosófico Científica” where he was responsible for the musical section. He also became the honorary member of the “Asociación Musical Barcelonesa” and of the “Orfeón de Bilbao”. His musical works mainly show the evident sacred character (motets, masses, salves…) although he also composed pieces for piano and sardanas, and composed music to his friend’s, Jacint Verdaguer, numerous poems. Apart from his work as composer he also became famous for being the predecessor in searching for the Catalan folklore and its popularisation through gathering and instrumentation of many popular songs.
