I posted some links in the discussion above that suggest different birth and death dates. Birth date: June 2, 1842. Death date: sometime after 1904. Can anyone get a better death date?

Makes sense. I'm thinking this is the only one is by the 1824-1883 composer: http://imslp.org/wiki/2_Sonatines,_Op.4 ... rd_Eduard). The rest in the category are by the 1842-1920 composer. 1920 seems reasonable for the death date, but the given link says he played with the Gewandhaus Orchestra from 1876-1920. So while it's likely that's when he died it's not for sure.
