The French version (1752) of Quantz's famous treatise is erroneously listed on IMSLP as an anonymous translation. The treatise was issued in both German and French at the same time, and it can be assumed that Quantz himself prepared the French text; he was fluent in French and spent several months in Paris in 1726-27. French was also a standard language at European courts.
The scan for the French edition is not complete, in that only the left hand column is fully visible on several pages of the Index.
