Has anyone else seen that many of Heinrich Schutz scores will open in Reader but are completely blacked out? To whom should I report this, and what is the best way to do so?

Probably you should not open the scores in your browser, but download them via "right mouse click".

I do have them open in a separate window for Reader. What I see is the margins of the page and then the whole of the score is one black solid rectangle. When I scroll over it the number 16 appears in the upper left hand corner, and this is the same for every page.

Try saving it rather than opening it. Then go to the folder and open it from there.

I assume you mean Adobe Reader - have you tried using a different program to open the files? For example, I'm using qpdfview and the couple test Schutz downloads I tried displayed perfectly fine.
