Open source musics for tales

Hi!

We’re a team working on OpenClassics (https://www.openclassics.org), a project to help people discover and read classic tales from around the world.

We try to pair each tale with a piece of music, following these ideas:
  • The piece should be a classic within its own musical tradition.
  • It should suit the tale’s atmosphere and cultural background.
  • The recording should be freely licensed for reuse. Full credits and licence information are displayed.
  • It should be entirely instrumental (no/limited vocals).
  • It should have good sound quality, with the recording itself typically dating from 1950 or later.
If you have a look at the project’s pages, you’ll see that readers can play the music while reading. It adds to the atmosphere when reading a tale aloud to children, for example.

We’re looking for ideas, in particular for the following tales (but web love to discuss the musics for the other tales as well):
Any opinion ?
Thanks a lot !
