I'm new to this forum, so I hope that I am posting this question in an appropriate place. If not, would a moderator please move it to an appropriate one. Thanks.
I recently came across the name of an American composer named A.E. Burt, who composed a Christmas carol called "Caroling Caroling". The performance I have is by Nat King Cole and was made sometime prior to 1965. The liner notes note that Burt had recently died, but beyond that, I have no information. Googling both the title and the composer turned up no references, but this forum seems like it might have people who can suggest further places to search or who might know more of Burt. Any leads you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks
David

Burt
Hallo David,
was just curious, that "nothing" could be found with google about an American composer, most likely just a typo of some sort.
So, if you search only with "Burt" and "Caroling" voilà, there are dozens of entries for one Alfred S. Burt.
You could also use worldcat to locate a copy at a library...

I had forgotten about the use of quotes for Google searches. Thanks. What threw me off was the typo in the liner notes on the Cole album, which refer to him as A.E. Burt rather than A.S. Burt. Using your suggestion for searching, I've found him and the story is indeed an interesting one. For those interested, here's a link to start.
