Luciano Pavarotti memorial thread

Post by imslp »

As many of you may know, Luciano Pavarotti passed away two days ago. I'm starting this memorial thread on behalf of an anonymous donor, who is also a fan of Pavarotti.

I, unfortunately, do not consider myself an avid opera-goer. Yet even so, I have had more than enough opportunities to hear the wonderful singing of Luciano Pavarotti to know what is lost in him passing away. I also know many fellow musicians who were greatly inspired by him, and who chose music because of him.

May his legend continue!

Indeed! Although I haven't had many opportunities to hear him sing (whether in person or a recording), as I've learned more about him since his death, I've become very impressed with his life and achievements.

Let us hope many others will be inspired by him, some not yet even born!

To be perfectly, honest I never liked his voice, and I feel that he relied on the ease for creating powerful notes.

But of course he did break a few records. :p
