Hi Everyone in the international news today, their was one of Igor Stravinsky's lost works was found a little over a year ago now that just got a world premier! Its the Funeral Song (Chant funèbre), Op.5. The world premier happened today by the Mariinsky Orchestra (it was lost for decades). It was streamed live here for free: http://www.medici.tv/#!/valery-gergiev- ... nt-funebre, everyone really should take a listen on the stream, they have a marker where it starts. This is a very significant work of the composer supposedly.
I definitely like it myself after listening to it, it starts very similar to the Firebird actually, low strings and instruments. Very big use of Romanticism and hints of his new musical style that is coming. You can clearly hear he is moving away from the late Romantic style he started his career off with.
Cheers!
