Hello,
I uploaded a PDF score on January 17, and it is still shown as “blocked pending copyright review”. I am new to IMSLP and would like to ask:
-How long does the copyright review usually take?
-Do I need to do anything while waiting?
-Could there be an issue with my metadata or copyright tagging?
Thank you very much for your help.

Re: Copyright review – how long does it take?
It should normally take about a week to review scores. However, we currently receive around 200 uploads each day, and over the New Year, this increased to over 300 as works by composers who enter the public domain on January 1st are uploaded. As there are only a few volunteer copyright reviewers that check files and reorganise work pages, this process can take time, especially when there is a sizeable backlog to clear.
You don't need to do anything while waiting; the file will be tagged as soon as reviewers get to it.
Many thanks,
ScoreUpdater

ScoreUpdater, Sallen112, other copyright reviewers — many thanks for the work you're doing! I understand it's a small team and you are getting absolutely hammered by the January excitement.
An idea: if the expected review time is a week, might it make sense to update the message that users see when trying to view blocked scores? The message currently reads (emphasis mine):

Changing this message might help give submitters who are less familiar with the site more realistic expectations. Let me know if there's a better place to share this suggestion, and thanks for considering. This file is pending copyright review and cannot be downloaded at this time. All newly submitted files must go through copyright review, which should finish in up to 2 days.

Its not just January but its been like this for years at this point so we'll approve the files when were able.
