I have a question about copyright. I have a copy of Anthony Philip Heinrich's The Sylviad, a work which is PD globally. My edition is the Conners Publications *reprint* of the first edition, with new introduction. The book says copyright 1996 Conners. I know that this applies to the introduction, but I'm not sure about the music itself, since it is just a reprint. I want to upload The Sylviad to IMSLP for everyone to access, but I don't know if I can scan the music from this book (even though it is just a reprint). I know that I can make a new edition, and I am already doing that, but would like to know if I can scan the book (introduction excluded) and upload it. I have written to the publisher but have not received a response yet.
Sincerely, Wilh3lm, composer and engraver.

Re: Heinrich - The Sylviad
If, as you state, the Conners 1996 printing is simply a reprint of the edition from the 1820s then it is not protected under copyright and you are free to scan it and upload it to IMSLP. Thanks!

Thank you!
