I'm just wondering if there's any particular reason why works that are in copyright only in the US are blocked to the whole world, whereas works that are in copyright only in the EU are freely available. Just seems a bit odd to me.
Ravel, for instance. Many of his works are blocked, despite them being Public Domain in both the EU and Canada; whereas Sibelius's Symphony No.5 is still in copyright in the EU, but is Public Domain in the US and Canada - and that's not blocked at all.
