Public directory not writable?

Public directory not writable?
Hoping this is a temporary problem, but when I try to upload a score, I'm getting "Upload error: The upload directory (public) is not writable by the webserver."

Dbmiller said they believed it was due to some planned server update, but didn't have any details - just that it would likely be relatively brief.

When I tried publishing (New Edition) just now, I got : "Internal Error" in a box
Then the script hung with a rotation icon by the cursor
2nd attempt seemed to work...
