First - why is the Faure not available for download? Faure died in 1924... At any rate it is definitely public domain here in England - does anyone know whether the block will ever be lifted, and if not, if there's another place that I can get that score and parts for free?
Another thing is: why on earth have the Dvorak piano trios not been uploaded when we have such obscure trios as Maysader, Paer and Krommer??! Don't get me wrong, I love the obscure stuff, but seeing as these last two Dvorak trios are true masterpieces of the Romantic era, it seems bizarre that they haven't appeared yet... I would love to have a look at the third.
Cheers!
Faure Piano Trio and Dvorak piano trios no.3 and 4
I agree on the assessment of the Dvorak trios, however since we are volunteer driven, clearly no one has stepped forward to scan/upload said trios. By all means, feel free to fill this void if you have the time and means.
As to Fauré, the block that is affecting the trio is the same affecting all files published later than 1922, i.e. works not PD in the US.

If I had the trios, then I wouldn't need to request them!! Believe me though, if I did have them I would certainly upload them. The other scores I've uploaded have been from my own collection. Sadly there's nothing in my score collection now that I could legally upload, that has not already been uploaded.daphnis wrote:I agree on the assessment of the Dvorak trios, however since we are volunteer driven, clearly no one has stepped forward to scan/upload said trios. With the Faure though - isn't it life +70 years for a composer having all their works out of copyright, regardless of whether they were published before 1922 or not? For instance Janacek's second string quartet was published after 1922, but is available on IMSLP.
I see. So are people in the US not able to download the Janacek second quartet? And if so, could that same setting be theoretically applied to the Faure (i.e. available to European users but not US users)? Who could do something about it?daphnis wrote:In the EU, yes. Sorry for all my questions, I hope you don't mind!

This issue has been discussed and continues to be discussed daily. It will not be unblocked for apparently some time.
