Transposing a gender-swapped Pirates of Penzance

Post by nichols »

Over the last few years, I've been approached by several theatre companies about doing a gender-swapped Pirates of Penzance. The necessary, and vast, transposition work required to do so has always been the obstacle. I just saw paulsson's lovely engraving and immediately thought, he has the files! I would love to be put in touch with him to discuss creating a gender-swapped version that can be licensed out.

Thanks!

I have dusted off my German (please don't laugh) and posted a message, which should get him notified by e-mail: https://imslp.org/index.php?title=Speci ... read=24172

I tried contacting Paulsson a number of times by every conceivable method last year to discuss his engraving of La Fille du Regiment. I had no success, and had to complete my job without access to his files.

This is the thread which tells the story.

I did have some success using Neuratron Photoscore on the PDF files, but I'm not sure it was worth the effort. I can PM a summary of the results if it would be helpful.

Too bad, does anyone know how to contact him? I've read your initial thread and the story of that project, and it could be quite a fascinating thing to organise, play and watch.
