Tambourin by Gossec

Post by ya89 »

There's a famous arrangement of Gossec's Tambourin made for flute and piano, which is submitted to IMSLP (#103292) under a Creative Commons License by another website/company. I believe this is an older arrangement that is most probably under the public domain because many famous flautists from different eras performed this exact arrangement (or something very similar to it). I would love to find that score and its public domain status in IMSLP because this is a very popular flute piece nowadays.
Appreciate any help!

Thank you for bringing this up. I've already seen this. Although it's similar, it's not quite the arrangement that is popular with flute. For example, check Sir James Galway's performance on Youtube -- this is what was uploaded by a different website to IMSLP (I quoted its score number in my original post). Since I am looking to make a commercial recording, I'd like to find out whether this particular arrangement is in the public domain.

I am familiar with the Creative Commons licenses. We only record music under public domain in selected regions.
