Die Walküre - Ride of Valkyries

Post by jasperleeabc »

Hi,

May I request for the Die Walküre - Ride of Valkyries full score?

Thanks in advance.

You may certainly request it, but it probably isn't happening any time soon.
Die Walküre is the second opera in Wagner's Ring and is all of about 710 pages in full score format. The excerpt known as the 'Ride of the Valkyries' is actually the prelude/overture to the third act. I have the Dover reprints to all 4 operas, and maybe someday before I die I'll get around to scanning them.

I've said this before but I'll say it again...

We really need a room full of scanners and an army of slaves who do nothing but scan 24 hours a day.

Then the number of works on IMSLP would rapidly increase, leaving the rest of us free to search for more scores...or kidnap more unsuspecting people to be used as slaves...

Or even do some work occasionally... :(

You could, gulp, buy a copy of this very common work. Eulenburg has a study score available for the princely sum of $11.95. Kalmus has a full score available for $30.
