This is my favourite piece of music ever, and would really love the opportunity to be able to study it.

Because it is one of his earlier works, I think it may be P.D in countries where copyright is 50yrs. :D

well, the edition (s?) published in Bartok's lifetime certainly are PD - and it's 1917 composition date means that ther emust be some edition that is Pd in the US

Piano score reprinted by Dover (Universal Edition, 1921) and full score under copyright in US (Universal Edition, 1924).
