This is a piece I would eventually like to see posted on IMSLP. As far as I can tell, Vladigerov's Piano Trio should be in the public domain in the United States (based on the fact that it was written in 1916, according to the New York Public Library's page for its copy of the score), though I wonder how it would fair seeing as it was published in 1956 by the Bulgarian state publisher "Science and Art" (Държавно издателство "Наука и изкуство"), though there are many publications on IMSLP from state publishers from communist countries made in the mid-20th century. Please let me know what you all think about this! In my opinion, this is a wonderful piece of music which deserves more attention.

Composed in 1916 does not imply public domain in the US. PD-US isn't based on composition date, but on the date of first US publication - if it's 96 or more years ago, we're good; if less, probably not but there are exceptions based on, for example, whether or not the publisher properly renewed the work about 26? years later with the Library of Congress (and again 26-odd years after that, etc.) - see Public Domain Term of Copyright (look under 4.2, United States) and check with people identified as Copyright Administrators for help.

The renewal term from 1930-63 is 28 years (not 26) after a proper registration in the CCE until anything published starting in 1964 until 1977 which it is an automatic 95 year term with proper copyright notice on the edition or book.
