Hi all! Does anyone have the score of Swanee River Boogie by Albert Ammons? I'm looking for any arrangements that I can get my hands on. Thanks! =)

Swanee River Boogie was created by Hattie Young who I think I've learned died c.1955. The sheet music for Swanee River Boogie gives a copyright date of 1947 so it's not yet in the public domain.

Not in the US (assuming renewals properly done) or Europe, but in PD in Canada, since 1955 is before 1972.

Hattie Young was Albert Ammons wife, it appears from Christopher Page's book

The circumstances around Hattie’s death are unclear except that she died alone in an apartment at 48th and Calumet in 1954.

Ammons grave shows she was born 1906

Her own entry on Findagrave is here:

Birth 4 May 1906
Death 26 Feb 1957
Would like to know why the piece shows she was the composer. Can't find any info that she was a boogie pianist.
It appears it was Ammons' idea to make the record:
One day, Al told Berle that he had an idea. He wanted to record “Swanee River” in boogie form. Berle set up the date with the studio and was present for the cutting session.

Anyway, it seems we'd need to take most recent date of death as 26 Feb 1957 for copyright reasons.
