Hey,
I read that Wagner composed one String Quartet (in D Major). I checked a few libraries and they don't have it. Have you heard of it? Seen it? Have access to it?
Please, let me know.
Sincerely,
Maciej

My list shows his string quartet as lost.
Do you perchance mean Verdi?

No, there are partial sketches which were reconstructed by a fellow who only died recently. Needless to say, any print editions of such a string quartet by Wagner are under copyright worldwide.

In 1947, Gerald Abraham published a Wagner quartet movement (Oxford) that was a "conjectural reconstruction" of a sketch from 1864. Apparently the theme was later used in Act 3 of Siegfried. It seems to be a score picked up by relatively few libraries, but you should be able to obtain it through ILL.

That was the one, thanks Jim. Abraham died in 1988, so again, it'd be protected worldwide.

My copy is on its way, so I don' tknow what it is like yet. but it is not expensive.
