Schumann/Auer Bird as Prophet

Hi -- I'm looking for the violin/piano arrangement of "Bird as Prophet" (Vogel als Prophet), No. 7 from Schumann's Waldszenen (Forest Scenes) Op. 82.

I found internet mentions that this is a violin transcription by Auer with a piano part by Saenger, published by Carl Fischer in 1915, and with copies listed as available at some academic music libraries.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks!

For a moment there I wasn't quite sure what the thread title would connote!

As you'd have already surmised, while we have some arrangements from Waldszenen, we don't yet have that particular one. It's probably best if you set the page as a watched page (you need to be logged in for this option to appear at the top of the page). You'll then receive notification by e-mail (if you set a valid address in your preferences) when the page is edited.

@pmi: Will do, thank you.

@generoso: It's oddly not the lack of recordings that is the problem, but the lack of score. For a rather known recital piece, it's funny that I can't seem to find some kind of version, either in public domain or to purchase. Am I looking in the wrong places?

And just as an aside, is that third version really a credited Heifetz arrangement? On quick listen, it sounds an awful lot like the Auer versions.

Thanks everyone -- I will keep looking. :)

Schumann-Auer is up, enjoy...

and no mention of Gustav Saenger on this 1913 Zimmermann edition.
(Carl Fischer may have used Saenger's name to secure a separate copyright)

Heifetz (1901-1987) on the other hand is still under copyright and you would have to buy it.
