Hello:

Noticed that orchestral parts for Ravel works are starting to become available in the U.S., including Daphnis et Chloe Suites. Is there any possibility that parts for the entire ballet will become available?

Unlikely since those, as of yet, have not appeared in digital collections. The complete ballet parts are available from Kalmus, but those have been edited and are probably copyright. So unless someone gets their hands on the original, unedited parts, it looks bleak.

According to Clinton Nieweg, editor of the Ravel score listed in Kalmus, the original Durand score and all orchestra parts have over 5000 mistakes.

Is this what the Dover edition used? Yeeesh. No wonder people poop on them at times.

Nieweg makes an excellent point in his essay "Errata and the Orchestral Librarian (http://www.polyphonic.org/article.php?id=73): don't dump on Dover or Kalmus for reprinting public domain scores. These publishers make no claims for editorial oversight or musicological improvements. If one wants the latest "best" version, be willing to pay individuals like Nieweg who have dedicated themselves to cleaning up long-extant inaccuracies...
