You Know Gounod?

The sheet music for the part-song, "Bells Across the Snow," lyrics by Frances R. Havergal, states that the music was composed by Charles Gounod.
Can you point me to an earlier Gounod work that was adapted to create this song? The tune is attached. Thanks.

(I ask because, in 1872, Gounod sued to prevent the publisher Hutchings from selling several songs "purporting to be composed by the plaintiff and not, in fact, composed by him." They were, however, adaptations of songs taken from his works, "chiefly from his operas Sappho, La Colombe, La Nonne Sanglante, and Philemon et Baucis." Hutchings agreed to revise its title pages to explain that the songs were arrangements of Gounod's music. One of the disputed works was "Bells Across the Snow." I am only assuming that this is the same song. See Musical World, Nov. 20, 1872, p. 766.)
