Wagner Operas
Wagner Operas
Could someone PLEASE post the full orchestra scores of some of Wagner's operas, preferably die Meistersinger, der Fliegende Hollander, der Ring des Nibelungen (if not possible to download all 4, just Walkure), and Tannhauser. If someone has higher resolution scores of Tristan and Lohengrin, then that would be great to post, too. I know it is a lot to ask for but I would really appreciate it thanks.
I had a feeling that the full score of 'the Ring' would be hard if not possible to upload. Thanks for the reply though.
Also, some random requests: The rest (mvts. III and V) of 'Concerto for Orchestra' full score by Bartok (not sure if PD in US, though),
'Romeo et Juliette' full score by Berlioz,
'Carmen' full score by Bizet,
'Danse Macabre' full score by Saint-Saens,
'Isle of the Dead' full score by Rachmaninoff,
'Rite of Spring' full score by Stravinsky (also not sure if PD in US).
I know it is a lot of requests but I think they would be a great edition to the IMSLP. Thanks.

The Bartók concerto will be posted soon...complete score.
Berlioz, later down the line.
Carmen, probably no time this year.
Saint-Saëns, yes, but much later along with his complete works.
Rachmaninoff, probably, but also no time soon.
All Stravinsky is still protected in Canada, so it will not be appearing on IMSLP for a very long time.

Only PD in the US.'Rite of Spring' full score by Stravinsky (also not sure if PD in US).
My library has the Dover editions of most Wagner operas, so I may be able to slowly scan (once get a scanner) one act every now and then.
You keep mentioning PD in the US. This doesn't matter to IMSLP as it is hosted in Canada. Thus, they cannot host US PD only files.
If you PM me to confirm you are in the US I will give you links (on another site) to Le Sacre.

I guess it's no coincidence that most of his famous works, like Petrushka, The Firebird, and The Rite of Spring were published before 1923. In fact, I have access to the Rite and Petrushka, but I can't open my Firebird file for some reason.daphnis wrote:Yes, any of his works published before 1923. But none of his works can exist on IMSLP, at least not right now.
They are PD, right?

As for the full scores for Wagner, just about all of them are available in reasonably-priced reprints form Dover. If you need to buy them, at least help IMSLP out by going through this link: http://astore.amazon.com/intemusiscorl- ... F8&node=93
You would still be purchaing them form Amazon, but the aStore ensures IMSLP gets a commission. Eventually, someone will scan these scores and they will hopefully make their way to IMSLP. IMSLP is hosted in Canada, not the USA. Since Stravinsky (d.1971) is under copyright in Canada we cannot host the scores there even if access from Canadian users were to be blocked.
