Respighi - Pini di Roma - nightingale part

Post by poncho »

The score for Respighi's Pini di Roma says that a specific recording of a nightingale should be played at a certain point. I believe that this recording is supplied on CD by Ricordi when the orchestral parts are hired from them.

However, Respighi is now public domain in the EU. Does this mean that the recording is public domain too?

If the recording could be obtained, would IMSLP be willing to host the files along with the sheet music?

Does anyone know where the recording can be obtained (without paying money to Ricordi which I am loathe to do if it is public domain)?

Many thanks in advance.

If the recording is over 50 years old (in most places) it is PD.
