file replacement

Post by Peter »

Back when I was no an admin, I couln't replace files, because I got an error that file replacement was not allowed. Now, I tried to replace Tchaikovsky-trioOp50.pdf , got a success message, but the file I downloaded afterwards was still the original... Strange huh. Even after cache clearing.

The new version downloads fine here; if you are using IE, try clearing the cache and trying again (like how you deal with corrupt downloads :))

By the way, fyi (for your information) downloads are done from the image mirror server, which is only sync'd to the main server once per day. This means that there may be up to 24 hours of lag before the new version hits the image server. Before then you'd still be downloading the old version. But that is not the case here.

P.S. About file replacement: I actually enabled it a few weeks ago; no one before than (not even myself) can upload a replacement. Right now, anyone can upload a replacement, but as usual only admins can delete anything.
