Opus Number Layouts

Post by allegroamabile »

Without being too technical, if you are all interested in making IMSLP look professional, opus abbreviations are follow by a space then the number, as below:

Clarinet Quintet, Op. 115

Most here seem to have no space following the period.

This has been discussed before. Typographically both variants are wrong: there should be a space after the period, but it should be smaller than the normal space between words. However, this is not so easy to achieve in a wiki environment. The current convention at IMSLP is to omit the space altogether.
