No offence intended to budding composers out there, but shouldn't there be a separate section especially for works by composition students/others? It seems a bit like heresy to place the efforts of 20 year old composition students next to well respected compositions.
granted, a lot of works by the great composers were written when they were teenagers but perhaps works that have not yet received favourable critical appraisal should be placed in their own category.

Re: Separate sections for works by new composers
The problem: way subjective, and this could also hurt some people's feelings. Plus, favourable critical criticism is not hard to acquire, and can be extremely inaccurate (Tristan). We could perhaps, organize a list for composers who have released their works under CC - This would include most of those (Although, also with the likes of Leo Ornstein. No system is perfect.)

Re: Separate sections for works by new composers
I really don't want to see the new composers here placed in some sort of 'new composers' ghetto'. It's contrary to our mission, for starters. We already have historical period categories to help people who are interested in the music of a particular era. That should be sufficient.

I agree with the above.
