Hi Forum,
I am looking for old (e.g. early '900 or older) catalogs and indexes of music publishers.
Any ideas?
Thx

Re: Publisher catalogs and indexes
The Monatsbericht is an excellent source. (You went 1900, right?)

Re: Publisher catalogs and indexes
As Perlnerd mentioned the Monatsbericht is a superb source for publication info. It's a generally reliable guide of when a given item was actually printed and made available for sale - especially for anything issued in Germany and Austria, though there are plenty of items from Italy, France, England and Russia covered also (in the later years mainly). The German release dates of Italian, French, English and Russian issues lagged behind their date of issue in the country of origin by weeks or even months.
There are some old publisher catalogs available on Google books. I just found a Simrock from the early 1900s, which I'll add to the Simrock page after the logos, etc. have been dealt with. I'll bet there are some others floating around.
