Hi-
Does anyone have any info on the composer Julius Manheimer? I know someone who is trying to find some of his music. Now I'm curious and can't find anything by or about him! Even Grove's older edition doesn't mention him.

I suppose you are looking for Julius Mannheimer, e.g. http://books.google.de/books?id=7E5q5jDn-jgC&q="Julius Mannheimer"

Thanks for your reply-
Yes, That's the guy. The name was misspelled when it was sent to me. I'm still unable to find any info on him (and it would be good to find his "Zweite Serenade Op 6" for download.!!).

MusicSack has a bit of information on him. Not very helpful, I'm afraid...

WorldCat shows that the Simrock edition was coyright 1889, so definitely PD by now, so it's a matter of finding a library that has it and seeing if they will scan it for you.
Use WorldCat to find the nearest library to you that has a copy and go from there.

well, our orchestra director had found it at Philadelphia's Fleisher Library, and it turns out that they just needed time to copy it for him. So we'll eventually get it.
Thanks!
