I (and I know others) would be greatly interested in examining Scriabin's unfinished manuscript for The Initial Act, part of his planned Mysterium (that was completed by Nemetin.) What is the copyright status of Scriabin's manuscript now that Nemetin "completed" it? I believe Nemetin's version is called a co-composed score, not merely and orchestration.
MS
Scriabin
Re: Scriabin
Since there is no information on the person who 'co-composed' or finished the score, it's ambiguous and unknown. Most likely it is public domain since Scriabin died in 1915. Do you know the dates of the other guy?
Re: Scriabin
Alexander Nemtin (not Nemetin) was born in 1936 and is still alive, no question that his version can't be uploaded. The original 72-page incomplete manuscript is fine to be uploaded, of course - only Scriabin added original material to it, so it should be public domain everywhere except Mexico. The only library listed in WorldCat which has copies of this appears to be the University of California in Berkeley.
Re: Scriabin
and they'll NEVER let this see the light of day I guarantee.
Re: Scriabin
Actually, he died in1999. Still can't upload it though, of course...
