weber, oboe concertino

Post by steltz »

Does anyone have Weber's Concertino for Oboe? I'm looking for the orchestral parts.

I have score and parts, but they are a genuine 1. edition by Musica rara ©1981 (from a manuscript source).
Editor Hermann Dechant does not give any indication about his input - it may be minimal.

I post them, if they are not blocked by the infamous TB.

It will definitely be blocked with [TB] (until 2048). I can also say it's PD in the EU (since it was published more than 25 years ago). Canadian status is a little trickier. Because it was published outside of Canada, I would say that it's probably OK there, but it might take a little more research... (all this is assuming that the editor had minimal original input)

The next question, then, is if there are any other editions?

Besides the Musica rara set - still available from Breitkopf for 32 euro (sc+parts)
there is also an edition by Dieter Klöcker published by Kunzelmann (40 SF parts, 23 SF score)
But this was also published in 1981, so the TB block applies.
Nova Music (1980) published only an piano reduction with the solo part.

The problem with the Weber manuscripts in the former Fürstl. Löwenstein'sche Hofbibliothek is, that in 1995 the music manuscripts in this library were auctioned of to private bidders by Sotheby's and are not accessible anymore, as far as I know. So unless someone here has copies made before 1995, you are out of luck.
