Brahms Violin Concerto: either Oistrakh + Konwitschny (1954) or Hahn + Marriner (2001). (I can't stand Mutter, incidentally.)

One recording I found of Brahms's Variations on a Theme by Haydn that I really admired is with the Munich Festival Orchestra conducted by John Rosten. It is really passionately played and the phrasing is superb. I tried looking up this conductor but I could not find anything substantial on him.

Any suggestions for Barber's Medea's Dance of Vegeance? I have Neeme Jarvi's and it is nice.
