Easy Violin/Cello Duets

(Hi! I'm new here!)

My cellist friend and I are trying to build our repertoire. We both stopped taking lessons a few years ago around Suzuki #5 or 6, so we're looking for challenging-but-not-too-challenging pieces near that skill level. Can anybody recommend anything? Thanks!

Nothing is easy, provided it's played musically well

To be honest, there is very little out there for Violin and Cello. I think you would be a lot more successful if you found a descent pianist and played trios. Then the choices of pieces would increase (you could play Brahms trios, etc).

As for cello and violin piece: I would suggest the famous duet by Franz Joseph Haydn.

Unfortunately the only well-known piece, the Ravel duo, is quite hard....

A large portion of baroque period violin sonatas are scored for the violin along with the Basso Continuo. The latter of course is usually covered by the keyboard with a cello or gamba. I often forgo the harpsichord and play violin sonatas with a cellist. After you have perfected a few works, you may engage a keyboardist to join in at a later time.
