Muzio Clementi

Post by BKhon »

If anyone has a score or typeset of any of the following pieces, it would be fantastic if he/she could upload it to IMSLP:

Op.1a 5 Piano Sonatas

Op.5 3 Fugues for Piano (1-3), and 3 Sonatas for Violin and Piano (4-6)

Op.14 3 Duets for Piano 4-hands

Op.15 3 Sonatas For Piano And Violin

Op.17 Capriccio For Keyboard

Op.27 3 Sonatas For Piano, Violin, and Cello

Op.28 3 Sonatas For Piano, Violin, and Cello

Op.30 Sonata for Violin and Piano

Op.38 3 Piano Sonatinas

Op.39 12 Waltzes For Piano, Triangle, and Tambourine

Op.41 Piano Sonata

Op.43 Appendix to Introduction to The Art of playing The Pianoforte

Op.45 Piano Sonata

Op.48 Fantasy With Variations For Piano

Op.49 12 Monferrinas For Piano

Of course, any other submission of Clementi is also greatly appreciated, since we don't have nearly any of his WoO works.

Also: If anyone happens to know where one could purchase some sort of complete edition of his works, or knows where the manuscripts for the works mentioned are currently held, please say so :)

An "Opera omnia" of Muzio Clementi (urtext) appears to be published in Italy by UT Orpheus Edizioni:

http://www.muzioclementi.com/urtext.php?l=ing

and

http://www.utorpheus.com/utorpheus/series.php?code=mc

Not all volumes are actually available. They can be ordered online. Most of the website is available in English, but some pages are in Italian, so feel free to contact me should you need any assistance with the language.

I've been poking around for Clementi's waltzes Op. 39 for a while. I did not see them listed in the "Opera omnia" yet... I once read that some libraries have copies of the waltzes and other works in manuscripts. I wonder, what are the chances of libraries making copies of manuscripts available digitally.

A recent edition is available from Edizioni Curci (website in Italian only):

Some printed editions of beginning 1800 are available in Italian libraries. Worldcat also reports several results worldwide.

The "24 Valzer" , published by Berben, are available via Theodore Presser for $18.95. The Presser catalogue number is 510-001490...

They are mentioned by the Hathi Trust digital library:

Published by Garland, Worldcat reports that they are available in more than 100 libraries in the US, plus many others worldwide.

According to the Hathi Trust page, scans of the originals were made by the University of California and by the University of Michigan. You can probably try to contact such organizations and purchase a digital copy. These editions by Garland are supposedly reprints of volumes published in the 19th century, so you may upload all public domain parts then.

Somebody else may possibly do the same in the future, however I'm not sure that it will happen in the short term.
