Copyright / public domain / sharealike

Post by VictorEijkhout »

I'm new here. Please put up with some beginner's questions.

I've just uploaded this composition: http://imslp.org/wiki/The_Huron_Carol_% ... _Victor%29

First of all, when I was filling in the fields there was not really a way to say "composer unknown, I'm the arranger".

Now, if you view my composer page by type: http://imslp.org/wiki/Special:CategoryW ... t,_Victor/
there is one piece not in the public domain, which is the other piece I've uploaded. So clearly this one must be public domain. However, both score and performance are marked CC-SA. I don't get it.

Victor.

That's because works whose composers are unknown are usually uploaded under the category Anonymous

I believe that is because you listed its stylistic period as 'Baroque'; since the original work shouldn't go under your composer page, this problem is easily fixed by moving the page, which I will now do. :)
