Cheap tablet for viewing sheet music...
I've been looking at tablets that I would use to view sheet music... anybody have any recommendations for an affordable tablet?
Re: Cheap tablet for viewing sheet music...
I would definitely go with an android based tablet. Anything that has an Android operating system will work a great deal like a pc and will be very affordable. I would just go with one of the ones that you can buy for around $100, that technology is progressing so fast that no matter what you get it will be obsolete in a week and it is going to continue like that for the next couple of years. Just find one with great reviews on Amazon. Happy tablet hunting

I've looked at some of them... What's an ideal size for viewing music?

What sort of music are you intending to read from it? Are you possibly going to be performing music from it? (If the latter, then larger screen real-estate is preferable for clarity.)

Not necessarily for performing, but just to have handy so I don't have sheet music all over the place. Probably mostly for cello...

Just a Hewlett Packard Mini... but it gets a bit warm to hold for the longer Mahler symphonies!... and it does not open flat...so I would like a 10" book reader... I think!!! And it is not much use in the opera house.... the reflection disturbs the neighbours.. but in the right seat and with binoculars I can follow the conductor's score!!! Actually sometimes I just sit back and watch and listen!

What would make that better than, say, the Velocity Micro Cruz? I mean I'd pretty much only be using for IMSLPDroid.....

Trying out a 10" Pocketbook now.. and so far it seems okay... page turn overs a bit slow in Presto... but certainly more convenient than my netbook.
A pound to a penny at then end of the day I am going to say I prefer a printed full score.. even if they are heavy to lug around!!
