Open a command prompt. Change the directory to where pdftk.exe and your score are. To remove the first page type pdftk thisscore.pdf cat 2-end output thenewscore.pdf

From BSB, I prefer grabbing the image files for collection, and separating them by partbooks (not relevant to all things, but most non-lute and non-keyboard collections of the 16c are in partbooks).

I grab the files, then manually split them into directories like 01-cantus, 02-alto, 03-tenore, etc, then run the second script against that.

I should probably put together all my scripts and post them here. Most are simple, but I have a few to paste together images that are only available in grid form (like at DIAMM) using pamundice.

pdftk can do this with the whole pdf, but you need to view the whole BSB pdf and write the page limits of each part on a paper and type the corresponding pdftk command for each part. I don't think a script is able to guess these page limits automatically.

They're different places. BSB is the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bavarian_State_Library) and Univ. Munich is the München Universitätsbibliothek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_Max ... _of_Munich). The latter doesn't have near the music collection of the BSB, and also their scans are only available in uncompressed PDFs. I was able to shrink the PDF size by an order of magnitude with ghostscript.
