chansonette

Post by steltz »

I tagged Percy Elliott's [[Delphiniums (Elliott, Percy)]] (http://imslp.org/wiki/Delphiniums_(Elliott,_Percy)) as "pieces" and now see that the subtitle is "Chansonette". Grove Music doesn't have a definition of a chansonette, but defines an early ariette (c.1700) as "petit air, ou chansonette". Though much earlier than the 19th C. Elliott, this would perhaps not imply a chanson in the typical sense, maybe just a small song.

"pieces" or "chansons"?

Changed, thanks.

Should I add this to the tagging list of terms?
