Does anyone know of image-editing software that is specifically music-aware? By that I do not mean something OMR like PhotoScore but just a program that takes in a PDF/JPEG and outputs the same except all the scanning artifacts have been cleaned up. This could be either fully automatic or with only a little user intervention. Or do people just use a collection of music-unaware tools like Acrobat, ImageMagick, and various generic PDF tools?
Do people generally want this?

I use ScanTailor (http://scantailor.sourceforge.net/) and, with a few tweaks, it works very well. It hasn't been updated in a while, so I don't know if they're still developing it or not.

If you want to improve low resolution scans made by some libraries you can see what people use here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2163&start=15 But don't expect miracles! Higher-resolution, monochrome original scans would have been better.Perry wrote:Or do people just use a collection of music-unaware tools like Acrobat, ImageMagick, and various generic PDF tools?
