Music Tags - in process project

Hi and thanks for this tool for organizing my project of organizing my audio files of my scores, boy that was a mouthful!

I'm standardizing my scores, starting with book1 folder

with the exact same (c) - but I'm putting the date OF THE SCORE which helps me immensely to know what version.

I will make all of my audio files have the date in 150910 format. I am deciding what tags are crucial, which are useful, and I want them organized as I have other things organized. See, I have an Excel database of my songs online which exports web pages, they are:

but the tags don't really matter to that project. It's just that I want to standardize all of my scores, and their audio files including MP3s and MIDIs both with and without (guitar) chords, so many scores/songs will have 4 audio files. I found the free Finale Player so that I can still share the .mus files and know people can use the scores - I had to set up a system where all the .eps graphics are in the same folder, as in book1.

I suppose the (c) tag is most important, but now I'm thinking I'll make a CD of all book1 songs, I'm thinking, in the order that the songs are in the book. This means the tags for Album and Track # can be put in.. as you see this is a project in process. Here are my current researches:

What I would REALLY LIKE is a sub:text tag that shows, while the song is playing, time-specific information! Example: "At 55 seconds you hear the notes a in the bass representing the dog trying to wake the shepherd, Vivaldi wrote 'Il cane que grida' meaning the dog is yelling, at that point in the score.."

SoundCloud has this type of text, can it be incorporated into a tag? Tags with time stamps or references? Thanks for hearing me out.

I think that's the bible for this, they say:

The ID3v2 tag is a container format, just like IFF or PNG files, allowing new frames (chunks) as evolution proceeds.
Residing in the beginning of the audio file makes it suitable for streaming.
Has an 'unsynchronization scheme' to prevent ID3v2-incompatible players to attempt to play the tag.
Maximum tag size is 256 megabytes and maximum frame size is 16 megabytes.
Byte conservative and with the capability to compress data it keeps the files small.
The tag supports Unicode.
Isn't entirely focused on musical audio, but also other types of audio.
Has several new text fields such as composer, conductor, media type, BPM, copyright message, etc. and the possibility to design your own as you see fit.
Can contain lyrics as well as music-synced lyrics (karaoke) in almost any language.
Is able to contain volume, balance, equalizer and reverb settings.

Could be linked to CD-databases such as CDDB and FreeDB.
Is able to contain images and just about any file you want to include.
Supports enciphered information, linked information and weblinks.

Synced lyric/text
This frame is very similar to the unsynced lyric frame, but with one major difference. It has got timecodes encoded within the text, making it possible to synchronize lyrics and text to the song/speech. This could also be used to describe events that occur, e.g. if the sound is recorded from a movie or a drama.

OK this is one of the directions for my Educational Technologies. Now I'll go back to simple decisions about (c) tag, author, album, track # and so on. Thanks for this sharing space! Any comments are welcome.

I used iTunes 11 to do the tags, but the volumes were so low! I used Amadeus which (even in the 'trial' version) has batch processing, I 'normalized,' bringing the volumes way, up, THEN took the mp3's that Amadeus made and in iTunes set all the tags - there is no COPYRIGHT tag though! I thought I had put Teo Barry Vincent © 2015 in the ARTIST field but there is not even a © or (c) symbol there.. Well the scores have it!

I was even able to include art! The cover of the book, that was nice.

I'm thinking of simply putting the free Finale reader into the folder, or a direct link, it is in:

I'll find the Windows 1 first. I'm going to compress the entire folder into 1 file, about 116MB, but then if people use the Final Reader they'll have the graphics - which I am extremely proud of! The files starting Vincent___ like VincentAgogo.eps there are really cool rhythmic diagrams!

I'll be so happy with the entire folder/book in one file. Thanks to all who let me blab and share my project!

I wonder if other Media Players show the mp3 tags and artwork? Live links? I still want the subtext or timed text.. 1 day!

Just to update how it is all coming about. I found that ReverbNation lets me buy an album release, $19.95 and up to 49 songs. I used iTunes and had all manner of tags in there, but they wanted me to upload WAV files, I could have uploaded MP3s, I've done it before. Doesn't matter! Then took out any tags so so much for this idea

Thanks for your email and I'd be happy to assist with this inquiry.

1). When you upload a song file for digital distribution we scrub all existing metadata from that song file. All information that's input in the "Release Details" and "Song Details" is then embedded in the metadata for your song files upon submission. The values listed in the "Release Details" and "Song Details" areas during the submission process are the only metadata values the digital retailers allow for.

2). The only way to change the release date associated with a submission is to issue a change request across all retailers. However, it generally takes at least 3-4 weeks for a change request to be processed across all retailer so that wouldn't work in this case since the scheduled release date of 11/30/15 is so imminent.

The next step, if there is one, is see if the music database of the galaxy will have all of this data for each song!

I'm so eager to see how this works out! I uploaded a large classical album and huge world-music album! Wish me luck!

Status report of sorts.

Reverbnation said iTunes won't take classical music, but of course I've seen tons in there. So I asked and they said they'll change the category to "Instrumental" and iTunes'll take them. Lucky I didn't sing my Swanengesang! In reality those should be in the category Romantic Piano, though some are in Baroque, Classical and other times. What really excites me is they should be in iTunes any day!

The tags is still a big goal, and SoundCloud has text at points in the songs, like I want to do. Meanwhile, we're getting a new car and it tells the song name and CD name while it plays! Artwork? Another value-added hotwiring coming up:

In iTunes (software now, not the store) you can set artwork for a given song. In Apple's Preview software you can chose to print 4 pages in 1 page, 1/2 size, and I've started attaching the score to the MP3 file as artwork. Clever eh?

Now the issue is how to get the artwork out if you don't have iTunes software! These songs have the score in the artwork:

Now in a car - driving - 1 shouldn't be like analyzing a score obviously.. but it's a nifty way to connect the dots - this is the exact score of this recording / sequence.
