what does "spurious" mean (Bach Cantatas)

I downloaded everything on http://www.bh2000.net/score/ and I saw that on the Bach Church Cantatas some of the works had the title followed by "spurious" in parentheses with the name of another composer. What does spurious mean in this context?

They are not sure that work is by Bach;might be written by other composers (they suggest the name in parentesis)
