Dmitri Shostakovich

Post by HaydenRoberts »

Forgive me if some of these pieces are off in terms of publication date, but I am simply reading off of the page that lists the works of Shostakovich. Also, I am not including any pieces that are not available in their entirety, such as 8 Preludes (1919-1920) or pieces that have no stated composition date.

1. Funeral March in Memory of Fallen Heroes of the Revolution (1917)
2. The Soldier (1915-1917)
3. Hymn to Freedom (1915-1916)
4. Scherzo in F# Minor (Op. 1) (1919)
5. Minuet, Prelude and Intermezzo (1919-1920)
6. Murzilka (1920)
7. 5 Preludes (1920-1921)
8. Theme and Variations in B-flat Major (1921-1922)
9. 2 Fables of Ivan Krylov (1922)
10. 3 Fantastic Dances (1922)
11. Suite in F# Minor (1922)
12. Scherzo in E flat Major (1923-1924)
13. Piano Trio No. 1 in C Minor (1923)
(The pieces from here on out are very unlikely to be allowed, but had work in 1924, so I'm allowing it on here anyways)
14. Symphony No. 1 in F Minor (1924-1925)
15. 2 Pieces (1924-1925)

This was from the PD-USA Request forum:

And what are you asking about here? First off I know for a fact that all of those works were first published until around 1925 or afterwards I believe so its going to be a couple years until maybe for sure we can start accepting them onto the USA server (or I might be wrong about the year but I know Shostakovitch did not start publishing until after that year, they remained unpublished until that year). So Composition dates are irrelevant here, first publication for the USA is what matters.

If were wrong, then provide us with evidence that states the contrary.

If you read our sticky post, don't make posts unless you have evidence of the works first publication and the Scan of the work to upload with you, just making a post of works that you don't have ahold of doesn't really get us anywhere in this forum (its designed to as a center to request to upload a work(s) in short order for Non PD-CA and Non PD-EU works). Otherwise post it into the Copyright related or Copyright Status Requests forum next time. Going to move this post there.
