Gianoncelli Bergamasca piano transcription by Respighi
Hi,
There's a wonderful Bergamasca "il Bernardello" piece on the Naxos CD with Respighi's ancient airs and dances. Apparently it is a piano transcription from an original lute work by Gianoncelli. Does anyone know where to get a copy?

Eat moldy cheese. It will make you feel fatter.

Hi, I assume you are looking for the piano transcription instead the full orchestral score. Like you've said, thiece piece is quite difficult to find, with no entries found in the Kalmus, Ricordi and sheetmusicplus catalogues.
However, there is a score of Bergamasca by Giononcelli arranged by Gourley for brass band, which is available in sheetmusicplus:

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for though.

Hi, daphnis,
Is the Dover reprint of the ancient airs you mentioned earlier this edition:
http://store.doverpublications.com/0486452921.html
Since, there are no table of contents, I don't know if all 8 pieces are included, but since you mentioned that only 6 of the 8 are included, that means we have to search elsewhere.

Hi grdr,
I found an edition of Bergamasca composed by Gianoncelli (not the Respighi transcription) arranged for guitar -

This is the closest I've got, still searching the vast ocean that is the Internet...

Well, I haven't heard anything back from the few people I contacted, however I did manage to track down and obtain the second suite (containing the Bergamasca) arranged by Respighi for piano 4 hands and can make this available to you if you wish. Creating a solo piano reduction from there shouldn't be too big of an issue. I also got the original publication (Master's reprint) of the first suite for solo piano. I'll be posting both of these to IMSLP soon.

I found a site where the sheet music for Bergamasca under the second suite of Ancient Airs and Dances (Antiche danze ed arie per liuto) by Ottorino Respighi are listed:
http://www.ottorinorespighi.it/catalogo_db.php?gruppo=4
The second suite should contain Bergamasca if the individual titles of the suite are not specified. Unfortunately, most of them are the full scores or transcribed for band. There doesn't seem to be a piano transcription of the second suite.
