I recently scanned an ILL score (Max Donner - Poème, Op.41) with a book scanner at my university, and I'd like to upload it to IMSLP, but I accidentally scanned in color. Then I sent the ILL back to Arizona without realizing my mistake
I don't know how to prepare the score as it stands for submission, and I need some help. FYI, I'm on macOS Monterey. I haven't had much luck with the IMSLP wiki instructions and Adobe Acrobat.
Does anyone have a process they could share for easily converting this color score into monochrome, deskewing the pages, cropping them with *consistent proportions and margin sizes*, and then compressing the PDF without losing quality (it's 10.4 MB right now)?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you were on Windows, I use a program called "Scantailor Advanced" which does exactly the kind of thing your asking for. I believe there might be a mac version possibly but not sure. You have to convert your files to image file type (TIF, JPG, PNG, etc.) first before inputting them into the program.

I've done the job with Windows, obtaining a 1.3-MB size. May I upload the score?

Hi coulonnus,
Sorry for late reply– Hobbypianist saw my request and already uploaded a score (3.76MB). I'm not sure if your smaller file size justifies replacing what's already been uploaded (I defer to people with more IMSLP experience.)
Regardless, would you be willing to share the process you used to prepare the compressed+monochrome file?

The process is already shared on https://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP:Image_Conversion and https://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP_talk:Scanning_music_scores. I have chosen the Imagemagick path in the first page and LaTeX in the second one. But I don't know if the prerequisites exist on Mac
