C clefs as Ks

Post by kfey »

Greetings!

I'm looking for as many examples as possible (cc. violists, trombonists, cellists, bassoonists, etc.) of C clefs that look more like the letter K than the typical B or even H/whatever this is.

Good examples are in some late 19th-century editions by London publisher Novello. Take this one, for instance.

Any others publishers you may be aware of? Or some info on where this was common practice? I seem to recall the K was popular in France around the same era as above, but I'm struggling to find examples.

Thanks in advance.

Most of the upper voice C clefs in these Giovanni Carlo Maria Carli Terzetti seem to use a first line C clef.
I am using NoteWorthy Composer, which cannot display C clefs other than Alto and Tenor clefs. My fix is to employ a treble clef, input the music from the source and then move the notes (NOT transpose) down two steps (CTRL-SHFT Down Arrow 2X).
