What habits or checks do you actually use in daily life to avoid getting tricked

Post by FraneWatson »

Lately I’ve been noticing way more scam attempts than before, especially emails and messages that almost look legit. Some pretend to be delivery services, others fake banks or even people I know. I’m careful, but honestly it feels harder to tell what’s real in 2024. What habits or checks do you actually use in daily life to avoid getting tricked, not just the obvious stuff everyone already knows?

On our end, were getting alot of attempted spam posts for a long time now, mainly from possible bot users writing in Russian. All we can do is infer what the post is saying and block it if it is posting things that have no relevance to music at all or is inappropriate and if the same user posts over and over again, block them completely.

I check the sender’s email/domain carefully, look for subtle inconsistencies in language or urgency, and never share sensitive information directly through messages. I also use two-factor authentication and keep my software updated to reduce risk.
