I have the score and parts of:

Schubert Forellen Quintett (Trout Quintet) (Op. 114)
Edition Peters Nr. 169

I think "8429 a-f" may be the plate number

Unfortunately in any parts or full scores, I could not find the copyright notices / publication year and my library (where I got this score from). Is this score already on public domain? Will it be legal if I scan the parts and put it onto IMSLP?

Thanks for your request. This will be completely in public domain.

The Worldcat entry and the Juilcat entry both don't provide an editor, so it is safe to assume the identity of the editor was not revealed on publication, and thus there is no additional copyright on the editorship.
The plate number is one of the 1890s, so it's safe for the US too.

There is already a full score version of the Forellen-Quintet online but we don't have separate parts yet. Thank you.
